Caterpillar has updated its most popular dozers with Tier 4 Interim
engines in the D6T, D7E and the D8T. The two smaller machines use the C9.3
ACERT engine, while the D8T is equipped with a C15 ACERT motor. Both of these
engines use the Cat NOx Reduction System and the Cat Clean Emissions Module to
provide much cleaner exhaust gases.
The D8T features a new cooling system, with a single radiator,
hydraulic oil cooler and air-to-air after cooler positioned in an easy to
service pack. In addition the machine has a ROPS-mounted air conditioning
condenser, which can be protected in high dust applications. The machine will
be available with an improved Cat Grade Control option from mid-2011.
