Komatsu America introduced a new D65-17
dozer with a fuel efficient 205hp Tier 4 interim Komatsu SAA6D114E-5 engine.
Komatsu said the D65-17’s new autoshift
transmission with lock-up torque converter reduces fuel consumption up to 10%
over previous Tier 3 models.
Designed for heavy dozing and
finishing operations, the D65-17’s next generation SIGMADOZER blade has a
capacity of 7.34 cubic yards.
A new optional six-way power angle
tilt (PAT) blade with a durable box structure C-frame provides precise grade cutting
for site prep, golf course or house pad applications and is easily controlled
by an in-cab toggle switch.
Komatsu’s new palm command control system
(PCCS) gives operators maximum control, with thumb push buttons to simplify
gear shifting. Hydraulic pilot controls offer excellent blade and ripper fine
control.
Thelarger D65-17 ROPS cab is viscous
mounted to reduce vibration and decrease operating noise. A new seven-inch
color monitor displays machine information.
The D65-17 dozer features the parallel
link undercarriage system (PLUS) with a rotary bushing system for easy
maintenance and longer life.
