Volvo Construction Equipment has updated its G900B Series of motor
graders, adding Tier 4 interim engines, improved moldboard control and upgraded
traction systems.
Volvo claimed that the G900B models have the highest blade down
pressure in their classes. The line-up includes the 34,520lb (15,800kg) G930B,
the 35,843lb (16,400kg) G940B, the 38,827lb (17,300kg) G946B and the
range-topping G960B, which tips the scales at 38,709lb (17,550kg).
The graders are available with Volvo’s eight forward gear HTE840
transmission or the optional 11 forward speed HTE1160. Shift quality is
computer controlled and the transmissions offer a choice of auto shift modes
and programmable target gears.
Graders with the eight-speed box have three power curves, while those
equipped with the 11-speed transmission get eight power curves, to match the
machine to the task.
