Donaldson has developed its highest efficiency
self-contained pre-cleaner for installation above the hood. Called the Strata
Cap, it is claimed to filter and expel up to 96% per cent of dust and debris
before it reaches an engine’s air filter.
Donaldson says the Strata Cap pre-cleaner is a
solution to the challenges faced by OEMs when it comes to integrating
increasing amounts of high-tech equipment into decreasing under-hood space. The
efficiency of the pre-cleaner can also allow OEMs to choose extended service
intervals or reduced air cleaner size – or a combination of the two.
Manufactured from lightweight corrosion-resistant
materials, the Strata Cap can accommodate a range of airflow requirements from
300cfm to 1,300cfm. The device can also be used as a scavenged system when used
with a connection to the vehicle’s exhaust.
