JCB
enjoyed a 48% upturn in revenue in 2010 and announced at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011
its plans to expand its continuing global growth. Deputy chairman John Patterson said that the company is building
a new US$100 million, 350,000 square foot (32,500m2) backhoe loader and
excavator manufacturing facility in Brazil, and a US$30 million new engine
plant in Ballabgarh, Delhi. The new engine factory in India is the first JCB
Dieselmax manufacturing plant to be built outside of England. Engines from the Ballabgarh
plant will be used in Indian-built JCB equipment and will meet new local Indian
emissions standards.
Patterson also announced that
US$30 million has been invested to expand JCB’s global service backup which,
with the recent addition of new parts warehouses in Prague, Dubai, and Fontana,
California, brings the company’s service reach to 16 locations.
