JLG shows its new 1500SJ self-propelled telescopic boom lift at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011

The 1500SJ boasts a 150 feet (45.7m) boom.

The new 1500SJ is claimed by manufacturer JLG Industries to be the largest self-propelled telescopic boom lift available. Its 150 feet (45.7m) boom has been designed to offer superior reach and greater flexibility in terms of the working envelope.

 The new model is the latest addition to the Ultra Series boom lifts from the manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers.

The 1500SJ is intended to address a previously unmet need. It is said to be the first boom lift for operators who are who are looking for a 150 feet (45.7m) boom that requires only a weight permit.  A telescopic jib is also included, extending up to 25 feet (7.6m) for additional vertical and horizontal reach. 

Standard steel hoods provide improved durability. In addition, ease of operation is increased as operators receive key information thanks to new graphic LCD displays in the platform. As with all Ultra Booms, the 1500SJ delivers dual 1,000lb and 500lb (454kg and 227kg) capacity, three steering modes and advanced systems to assist in safely positioning the platform.
