Miller
Electric will be showing the latest additions to its Arc Armor line of welding
protection products. The two new welding helmet cooling accessories are designed
to reduce heat stress, leading to increased operator comfort, productivity,
weld quality and safety, said the company.
The CoolBand
is an integrated headgear cooling system that fits into most Miller Arc Armor helmets
and provides up to six hours of continuous cooling on one battery charge. It
reduces temperatures under the hood by up to 8°F (5°C). Downward and upward air
vents provide constant air movement over the entire user’s face and head,
removing stagnant air and decreasing lens fog, according to the company.
The
CoolBelt is a lightweight belt-mounted cooling system that integrates into most
Miller welding helmets. The CoolBelt is designed for extreme industrial
environments, said Miller, and offers multiple air speeds with directional air
controls to provide air movement over the user’s face and head. The CoolBelt
can lower temperatures underneath the hood by up to 17°F (10°C) while also
removing stagnant air and decreasing lens fog, said the company. A rechargeable battery pack provides up to
five hours of battery life, and extra battery packs are available.
