New from Signature –MegaDeck extra-large panel matting

Modular flooring system manufacturer Signature Fencing & Flooring Systems has announced the release of MegaDeck, the latest addition to its line of heavy-duty matting and temporary roadway systems. The extra-large access mats are designed to allow even the largest vehicles and equipment to traverse any type of terrain while protecting the ground beneath from chemical and vehicular damage. MegaDeck composite mats are intended for uses including temporary roads as well as construction and heavy-lift crane platforms. Signature said that they can be used anywhere heavy-duty access matting is required.

Each large mat measures 14feet by 7.5feet (4.3m by 2.3m) and has a useable surface of 13feet by 6.5feet (4m by 2m). MegaDeck composite matting is designed to fit in standard ISO shipping containers.  According to the company, the panel matting system is incredibly strong while being slightly flexible, allowing it to accommodate uneven terrain without cracking or breaking.

It is manufactured from a proprietary blend of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and a nano-clay filler exclusive to Signature and is said to be significantly stronger than traditional composite fillers.  A cross-ribbed interior distributes load weight throughout the panel while allowing the mat itself to weigh less.

Innovations such as a low profile traction pattern provide protection against slips and skids while allowing tracked vehicles to travel smoothly over the portable roadways, said Signature.

According to the company, installation of temporary roads and construction platforms is made easy with nesting radius-edged flanges and a simple yet sturdy locking system.  The rounded edges of the access mats allow them to be nudged into place with a single forklift. The heavy-duty cast aluminum locking pin is dropped into the lock and turned 90° with a standard hex key.
