The design
of the articulated compact tandem rollers in Dynapac’s new range recognizes
that many of the units will be sold into the rental unit. Dynapac has placed an
emphasis on ease of servicing and operation together with low operating noise
and vibration as well as good ergonomics and visibility.
Largest of the range
is the CC1300, with an operating weight of 4.3US tons (3.9tonnes), while the
CC1100 has an operating weight of 2.7US tons (2.4tonnes).
Power for
the new CC1100, CC1200 and CC1300 comes from water-cooled Kubota diesel
engines. The whole range is available in two configurations: with dual steel
vibratory drums or as a combi version featuring one vibratory drum and four
rubber tires. The large drum diameter is designed for effective operation on
soft asphalt compounds. In addition, the ratio of drum diameter to static
linear load has been chosen to reduce the risk of cracks. Although the rollers
are engineered primarily for asphalt compaction, the CC1300 is also suitable
for compacting sub-bases and base courses.
In the
combi versions, the rubber tires are operated in pairs by separate drive
motors. This reduces the risk of marring newly laid asphalt when making sharp
turns. High clearance at the drum edge facilitates compaction close to high
curbs.
