Dynapac is
presenting two new wheeled compact planers, the PL1000T and the PL600T, which
have cutting widths of 3feet 3inches (1m) and 2foot (600mm) respectively and an
operating weight of about 14.4US tons (13tonnes).
They are said to have more power
available at the 1foot (300mm) maximum cutting depths than competing machines in
this size class.
The
machines’ power, small turning radius and a quick detachable rear discharge
conveyor have been designed to cope with larger jobs in cities or confined
areas. They incorporate several patented features, including an innovative
single-sided drum drive bearing to allow fast drum changes. Another patented
solution is a parallelogram front axle, designed to reduce uneven tire wear
while increasing traction and wheel control. A patent-pending system at the
front side of the cutter housing has been developed to minimize the
accumulation of milled material.
The new
launches bring the total of Dynapac’s compact planer models to five and all
feature a common modular design.
