The telescopic screed ends are options that offer additional versatility for Guntert & Zimmermann's S600 paver

The breadth of features and configurations of Guntert & Zimmerman’s new S600 multi-purpose slipform paver are claimed by the company to make it the most versatile tool in any paving fleet. The company said that the S600 sets a new standard for rapid maneuverability and paver reconfiguration, giving the contractor significantly more paving time during a day. The S600 has been engineered for tasks including airport and mainline paving, barrier walls and canal lining. The machine is designed to pave widths from 6feet 6inches to 29feet 5inches (2m-9m) and its maneuverability is achieved due to its 90º steering while the machine features rollers and hydraulic clamping pucks that eliminate the need for bolted adjusted clamping plates.

The swing legs and rotary actuated track steering work together so that the crawler tracks automatically adjust to the forwards position. The machine can also be set to the 90º steering mode and features a transport mode and once selected it will set itself semi-automatically. Versatility is further increased by the option of telescopic ends for the screed that extend hydraulically. Power for the S600 comes from a fully-enclosed and noise insulated Cummins diesel rated at 149kW, which meets the Tier 3/Stage IIIA emissions requirements.
