Phoenix International, a John Deere company, has introduced its expanded product
line of integrated telematics, featuring a pair of modules that together are
designed for tracking and monitoring equipment anywhere in the world.
The new Modular
Gateway and Satellite Gateway modules have been specifically designed for the
off-highway and heavy-duty environment with off-highway machines in the
construction and agricultural markets, along with on-highway trucks, generator
sets as targeted applications.
The Modular
Gateway is designed for advanced telematics applications, such as remote
diagnostics and repair that require advanced communications and processing. The
module offers mobile communications and processing that integrates GPS, GPRS
data, and onboard machine communications via CAN, RS 232, or Ethernet.
The Satellite
Gateway is a mobile satellite communications device designed and manufactured
by Phoenix that
transmits and receives data over the Iridium satellite network via Iridium SBD
Services. The Satellite Gateway
communicates over an RS-232 connection to external electronic modules.
Increased power conditioning and transient protection are incorporated to
improve the functionality of the base Quake Global Q9612 transceiver.
