Swedish Steel, Continental Mixers has developed a lightweight concrete mixer
that uses a high-strength Hardox steel construction, specifically formulated
for concrete mixer applications.
The new mixer,
launched at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011, and already purchased by concrete specialty
contractor Chaney Enterprises of Maryland, offers a 2,000lb weight saving
compared to similarly specified equipment using traditional quarter inch steel
construction.
A US$6,500 extra cost
option and available on International WorkStar and PayStar chassis. The
lightweight mixer is available in 9, 11 and 12 yard capacities, in addition to
the standard 10.5 yard model. These lightweight mixers also include the
optional ZF gearbox, which integrates the hydraulic pump in the gearbox
housing.
