Sauer-Danfoss
is introducing a new line of joysticks for mobile equipment control at the IFPE
2011 show located on the second floor of South Hall.
The new
JS7000 joysticks will be sold as stand-alone controls, or as part of a complete
Sauer-Danfoss mobile vehicle control system.
Targeted uses
include backhoe loaders, skid-steer loaders, telehandlers, wheel loaders and
excavators, as well as some on-highway applications.
The basic
design features of the JS7000 joysticks include dual axis designs with
spring-centered guided movement and vertical right- or left-hand grips. A T
grip design will be introduced later this year.
The joysticks
will include push-buttons, as well as two-position and trigger switches. Push-buttons
with integral LEDs and three-position switches will be introduced later this
year.
The initial
electronic specs for the JS7000s will be 5Vdc analog and CAN. The software will
have J1939 protocol and CANOpen protocol. The joysticks are rated IP67 and,
later this year, will be available with CAN communication options supporting
SIL2.
“We filmed operators in the cab as they manipulated
the joysticks,” said Joe Maher, Sauer-Danfoss product marketing manager,
electronic components. “We heard what they thought that they wanted and liked
and witnessed how they actually used joysticks. What was really interesting,
after we filmed them, were the discrepancies between those two; what they said,
and what they actually did.”
